Grand Traverse Mall goes dark
Consumers Energy says nearly 500 customers were without power as of 2 pm Friday after a tree fell on power lines near South Airport road in Traverse City.
Among the customers in the dark was the Grand Traverse Mall.
There have been various reports of trees down across the area due to high winds.
7 & 4 Meteorologist Mark Watkins says wind gusts have been as high as 53 miles per hour at the station on M-72 West and 32 miles per hour at Cherry Capital Airport.
