Goodwill hit with low food supply

TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- With winter fast approaching and a high need for food assistance, the Goodwill Inn Annual Fall Food and Essentials Drive is seeking donations to ensure that its pantry is stocked for the coming months. The food drive will kick off Thursday, November 10th at its new location at Marketplace Circle, N US 31 in front the outlet mall (Grander Mountain, ABC Warehouse, West Marine, Qdoba Mexican Grill and Honor Bank) at run through Sunday, November 13th.

Non-perishable food, hygiene items, financial donation and Meijer Gift Cards can be dropped off at the Meijer food drive collection truck, Thursday – Saturday, 8 am - 7 pm and Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm.

All donations will help area individuals and families in need. Together we can make a difference, “One Can at a Time”. There is a critical need for canned meat (tuna, chicken, salmon, spam), stew, pasta sauce, pasta noodles, canned or boxed meals, soup, peanut butter and jams, cereal, pancake mix, canned fruit. 
In the past year, the Goodwill Inn has provided food assistance to 4,302 people through the Food Pantry, provided Inn guests with 53,074 meals and shelter to 773 men, women and children.

Meijer gift cards donated during the food drive will generously be matched by Meijer up to $1,000.
