LUDINGTON -- More than four months after Katherine Phillips disappeared, Investigators are focusing on several areas of interest.

Four-month-old Katherine "Kate" Phillips disappeared on June 29.  She was last seen with her father, Sean Phillips.

Investigators from the Ludington Police Department, the Mason County Sheriff's Office, members of the Mason County Mounted Division and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Marine Division are in the process of completing another search of the area bounded by the Railroad Tracks on the north, US-31 on the east, and First Street on the south, in Amber Township.

The area had been searched previously by members of the Michigan State Police K-9 Team. This search began Oct. 26 and will be complete by Friday, Nov. 4.. The investigation includes both a land search and an underwater search of a small lake in that area.

The underwater search has been conducted using Ottawa County's Remotely Operated Vessel (R.O.V.). The R.O.V. is remotely operated from shore and is equipped with both sonar and video equipment, and has some ability to retrieve items located in the water. The underwater search is 95% complete at this point.

The land search was conducted by the Mason County Sheriff's Office Mounted Division both on foot and on horseback, and is complete.

Sean Phillips faces parental kidnapping charges.  His trial date is set for January 17.

Investigators are looking for information regarding the activities of Sean Phillips on June 29th, 2011 between the approximate hours of 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. OR any information that would indicate the whereabouts of Baby Kate.
