BENZIE COUNTY -- Low income families, living in a county hit hard by unemployment and the tough economy, get some help Wednesday night.  Winter coats, hats and boots were given away at a Benzie County elementary school.

Kids always love to get presents and Wednesday night, hundreds of little ones received the very special gift of warmth, just in time for winter.

The clothes drive at Platte River Elementary is put on by the Wayne and Joan Webber Foundation and is made possible by the hard work of one generous and passionate family.

Winter Clothes Drive Organizer Cynthia Helisek says, "This is the third year our family has done this. My aunt and uncle have a foundation and they pay for all the coats.... all the hats... all the gloves... everything comes out of their pocket. And everything is brand new, nothing is used and we shop throughout the year to provide the inventory for the kids."

The drive continues tomorrow at Betsie Valley Elementary School in Thompsonville starting at 10:00am.
