TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Central Slice puts a smile on your face and a pie on your plate.
Students at Traverse City Central High School have created a business called Central Slice.
The company was created in their “How to Start a Business” class.
Central Slice makes money by selling pies they get on discount from the Grand Traverse Pie Company.
A portion of their proceeds go toward the Traverse Bay Children’s Advocacy Center.
Students in the class said working for the company helps by giving them real world experience. “It's a lot more hands-on than other classes. We are not reading out of text books, we are not listening to the teacher lecture…we are actually going out and we're doing something,” said senior Corey Jones.
