MANISTEE -- Three northern Michigan communities are at odds over where the legendary explorer Father Pere Marquette died.

If you ask folks in Ludington and Frankfort, they'll tell you he was laid to rest in their home town. But one Manistee native is on a mission to set history straight and is trying to prove that Marquette really died in his city.

82 year-old Manistee resident Bob Adams says, "I don't believe it, I know it!"

7&4's Kate Fox sat down with Adams to find out about his 40 years of research and why he says another monument marker needs to be placed in Manistee.

To find out if the Manistee City Council gave Adams permission to place a marker in Manistee and to check out the full report click on the video above.
