Saks' Wellness Center in Gaylord offers new technology

GAYLORD, MI -- Saks' Wellness Center in Gaylord has a futuristic-type of workout, and no, doctors say it's not too good to be true.

Clients now can use these machines to work muscles two-to-three thousand times a minute by vibration, giving you a full-workout with no pressure impact to the joints at all.

The machines and workouts have been especially beneficial for Karen Farina, who has Multiple Sclerosis.

She says she's now stronger and doesn't have to depend on a cane to walk anymore.

"This is the safest, quickest, most effective exercise program I've ever done. It's safe because I don't have to move when I do it, it moves for me, and it's very effective," said Farina.

"Physical challenges with disabilities or limitations as well as the guy who really likes to pump iron, and the big advantage is you can get a full body workout in about 15 minutes," said Dr. Gary Saks.

The technology increases balance and came from the space program.

Saturday, between 8 and 2, Saks Wellness Center in Gaylord will have an open house for you to try out the new machines.
