TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- The Bay Area Transportation Authority is hoping voters will support public transportation this November.

BATA is seeking the same total millage levy approved by voters in 2007.

It is asking for .3454 mills for a period of five years. That would be levied on all taxable property in Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties.

Executive Director Thomas Menzel said the BATA millage would cost $34.54 per year for a home with a taxable of value of $100,000.

If approved, this millage would raise an estimated $2,305,109 in 2013.
