TRAVERSE CITY -- UpNorthLive's Facebook fans voted to hear more about becoming a foster parent for children in need.
Holy Cross Children’s Services is hosting an information night on the process of becoming a foster parent. There's an increasing need for good foster homes in northern Michigan and the meeting will be a good time to talk to current foster parents, social workers and licensors.
The Foster Parent Information Night will be held Tuesday, November 1st, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Traverse Area District Library. Dinner will be provided. You can RSVP by calling HCCS at 231-922-9664 or email mryba@hccsnet.org.
You can also call Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan for information on foster parenting and adoption. The organization holds an open house for prospective foster parents on the first Thursday of the month. Child & Family Services is located at 3785 Veterans Drive in Traverse City. The open house is held from 12:00-2:00 p.m..
