Forum to focus on utility rates for the winter

Several agencies will help Crawford Co. residents learn more about electric and gas rates and help available to get through the winter months.

GRAYLING -- The Michigan Public Service Commission will be hosting a forum for residents in Crawford County Thursday.

The meeting will focus on helping residents learn more about the electric, gas and telephone industries.  Commissioner Greg White of the MPSC, will also highlight the latest information on electric and gas rates for the winter, and the status of local and long distance phone service.

White will be joined at the forum with representatives of utility companies, the Northeast Michigan Community ServicesCrawford County Department of Human ServicesConsumers EnergyFrontier CommunicationsDTE Energy, and Crawford County Emergency Managment.

It will take place at Grayling City Hall, 1020 City Blvd.. The forum gets underway at 6 p.m..
