The New Jersey man was arrested an hour prior to his death in Mt. Pleasant

MT. PLEASANT -- An autopsy is taking place to determine the cause of death of an inmate in the Isabella County Jail.

Bradford Gibson, 35, of New Jersey was found unconscious with no pulse in his jail cell around 3:00 a.m. Saturday.  CPR was performed but was not successful.

Gibson was arrested and brought into the jail just an hour before he was found dead.   He was arrested and facing charges for Disorderly conduct, Two counts of Obstructing and Resisting a Police Officer, and Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer. 

The Michigan State Police are conducting an independent investigation on the death.
