TRAVERSE CITY -- The 2012 National Cherry Festival will take place July 7 - 14, and in preparation a new festival Board of Governors is announced.

National Cherry Festival officials announced its 2011/2012 ‘Board of Governors’ Wednesday. 

Members of the Board include: 
Jan Warren, President
Mike Borden, President Elect
Gerald Morris, Finance Officer
Past President, Robert Reed

Board Members: Ron Hofmeister, Kevin Jaeger, James Connaughton, James Williams, David Barr, Kat Phillips, Mark Koval, and Dawn Centilli.

Newly elected Board of Governors members include Peg Jonkhoff, Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and James Callahan, a staff member of State Representative Phil Potvin.  Also serving on the Board of Governors is Barbara Wunch, cherry industry liaison.  Ex-officio members of the board include Charles Judson of Smith, Haughy, Rice & Roegge, PC; Ralph Soffredine, City Commission Liaison; and Trevor Tkach, Interim Festival Executive Director.
