Hundreds of volunteers are taking part in community projects across northern Michigan Thursday.
The events are marking the 16th Annual Day of Caring with the United Way of Northwest Michigan.
The day was kicked off with a pancake breakfast at the Open Space. After the kickoff volunteers travelled all over the area to dozens of projects from fixing up the TART Trails to planting flowers in parks. A full list of events you can take part in can be found HERE.
After you are done with your volunteer project for the day stop by the United Way of Northwest Michigan offices at 521 S Union Street for a free hot dog lunch.
