TRAVERSE CITY (AP) -- You have until early next week to shop at the Borders store in Traverse City.   The doors will officially close at the Crossings Circle location on Tuesday.

Borders' flagship store in downtown Ann Arbor is expected to close Monday as the bookseller works to wrap up hundreds of store closings.

Borders Group Inc. on Wednesday made public the closing date for the 40,000-square-foot store near where the company got its start in 1971.

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Borders Group filed for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York in February, brought down by tough competition and an inability to adapt to consumers' increasing appetite for e-books.

Borders received court approval to liquidate its stores in July.  Birmingham, Ala.-based Books-A-Million Inc. is taking over a handful of stores.
