MACKINAW CITY -- The search for a man who robbed a woman in Mackinaw City continues.

It happened Tuesday around 7:45 a.m. on Central Avenue.  The woman told investigators she was getting into her car after picking up the night deposits from the Dixie Saloon when an African American man took the money.

Witnesses chased after the man but he was able to escape.  The witnesses were able to identify an accomplice to the crime and he has since been arrested.

This suspect will be charged with being an accomplice to strong-arm robbery and habitual offender. His name is being withheld pending arraignment before the 89th District Court in Cheboygan.

More arrests are expected in this case.

The Dixie Saloon is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of those involved. If anyone has information they are asked to contact the Mackinaw City Police Department at 231-436-7861.
