CADILLAC -- Pump up those bicycle tires and get ready for Pine Grove Athletic Club's 8th Annual Ride For-A-Cause Saturday.

This year's road bicycle ride is better than ever with six different routes ranging from 10 to 80 miles.

Carolyn Richards, owner of Pine Grove Athletic Club said, "We have routes for all levels. This year we've added new routes to include the White Pine Trail." In addition, each rider receives a free T-shirt!

Participants are asked to make a minimum donation of $25 to the United Way of Wexford & Missaukee Counties. 100% of all proceeds from this year's Ride For-A-Cause will go to the Cadillac Area OASIS/Family Resource Center to help fight domestic violence.

This is the only charity cycling event in our community. United Way director, Pat Goggin said, "This is a great way to ride with friends, get some exercise, and help fight domestic violence in our communities."

All routes begin and end at Pine Grove Athletic Club located at 8179 Mackinaw Trail where parking, locker rooms and showers will be available.

Route #1: Lake Cadillac: Short (approximately 10 miles, mainly flat).

Route #2: Lake Cadillac & Mitchell (approximately 20 miles, mainly flat).

Route #3: Three Lakes: (approx. 25 miles, featuring some nice hills).

Route #4: NEW! 9&10/White Pine Combo (approximately 30 miles featuring both hilly and flat terrain).

Route #5: NEW! Long Distance route: (approximately 80 miles plus. This combines hills and flat terrain.

Route #6: This is the "PLUS" which adds the White Pine Trail to Route #5.

Along each route there will be rest stops with free snacks and drinks.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, September 10th at the Pine Grove Athletic Club. The longer routes begin leaving at 8:30 a.m. with the shorter routes getting underway by 9 a.m.

Following the ride participants are invited to check out the club to enjoy a Jacuzzi, sauna or a swim… to let your body recover!

Richards said, "Make this your "exercise" for the day! Call your friends and family. Let's make this year the best yet for this charity ride.
