EMMET COUNTY -- The Emmet County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal accident just outside of Petoskey. The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators say a semi truck was traveling southbound when it crashed into a car at the corner of US 131 and Intertown Road south of Petoskey.
The driver of the car died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
US 131 is currently closed between Gregg Road and Lears Road. Traffic is being re-routed at this time. Crews are currently reconstructing the scene.
