BOYNE CITY, MI -- The snow's not flying yet, but once winter hits, a new business in Charlevoix County will offer the perfect fit for downhill skiers.

Shaggy's Copper Harbor Skis has filled an empty store-front in Boyne City and will sell handcrafted skis made from scratch.

John Thompson and his wife brought their business from downstate to Boyne City, hoping to cater to the north's ski mecca.

"It's a great opportunity for people in the area that love to do it, and we're hoping to get them excited about having a ski manufacturer right in their back yard," said Thompson.

A grand opening for the business will be on September 10th.
