EMMET CO., MI -- Do you have electronics you want to get rid of?

One local community is making it easier for you.

You can now take that old TV in the basement or the computer collecting dust to Emmet County Recycling Center and get rid of it for free.

Emmet County Public Works has a new slogan for the program: "All free, all the time"

The county tells us they're able to do this because of a 2008 Michigan law that requires manufacturers to provide a free and convenient way to get rid of the old technology.

"They're not going to end up in China in a burning pile that you might see on the news, we work with the best company that has the highest environmental standards, they're certified to do the right thing, so people can be rest assured, their electronics will be recycled 100 percent," said Public Works Director Elisa Seltzer.

You can drop off your old electronics at the center six days a week during normal business hours.
