BOYNE CITY, MI -- One Northern Michigan community is celebrating after word that a $5.8 million business expansion could bring at least one-hundred jobs.
Precision Edge Surgical Products company announced last night they'll begin building the new multi-million dollar manufacturing facility in boyne city in the next few weeks.
The company, which makes specialized medical instruments, hopes to hire 30 people in it's first year in Boyne City and employee 100 within the next four years.
"We think this is just the tip of the iceberg here with the factory itself going in. Again, it's a very high-quality company, they do high-quality work, they're looking for high-quality employees, it's very technical work, these are not just going to be entry-level positions, these will be positions people can make a career out of and support a family," said Boyne City City Manager Michael Cain.
The building is expected to be finished in January.
Precision Edge headquarters is based in Sault Ste. Marie.
Their project plans will be presented to the Boyne City Planning Commission next week.
