PIERSON TOWNSHIP -- The Montcalm County Sheriff's Office is investigating a two car injury accident that sent two men to the hospital.  It happened on Sunday morning just after 2 o'clock near the intersection of Federal and Cannonsville Roads in Pierson Township.

A 49-year-old Rockford man was traveling southbound on Federal Road when he crossed the centerline and struck a northbound vehicle head on.  A 23-year-old Cedar Springs man was driving the northbound vehicle.  He suffered severe injuries and was taken to Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.

The Rockford man was also taken to Butterworth for minor injuries.

Sheriff's investigators say alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
