GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- A busy road in Grand Traverse County is shut down after two cars collided.

It happened Tuesday around 4:20 PM on Garfield Avenue between River and Lardie Roads.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office says the preliminary investigation shows a southbound vehicle crossed the center line going down a hill on Garfield and was hit by a car heading in the opposite direction.

A total of six people were taken to Munson Medical Center by several ambulances.

Garfield Avenue between River and Lardie will be closed until further notice.
