MANISTEE -- Tuesday is election day for several communities.

Manistee Public Schools is asking voters to approve a school bond to help renovate and update the district's buildings.  Two elementary schools, Madison and Kennedy would close.

The bond proposal is for 14-million-dollars.

The 1.62 mills would mean if your taxable value on your home is $100,000 you would pay an additinal $162.00 a year.

The project is scaled back from the original plan annouced earlier this year which would have cost taxpayers 21-million dollars.
