The Village of Elk Rapids approved a Celebrity Code of Conduct
ELK RAPIDS -- An Antrim County community is welcoming the rich and famous who would rather not stand out in the crowd.
The Village Council of Elk Rapids unanimously approved a proclamation for a Celebrity Code of Ethics. The new code of conduct is intended to allow celebrity visitors to experience small-town life without drawing a crowd.
The Celebrity Code of Ethics was submitted and presented to Council by Lindy Bishop, Economic Development Director.
CELEBRITY HOSPITALITY CODE OF ETHICS:
PROCLAMATION FOR THE COMMUNITY OF ELK RAPIDS, MICHIGAN
We, the sensible people of Elk Rapids, honor the desire of celebrities to experience small-town life as “normal” citizens. Therefore, we will do our best, at all times, to treat them accordingly. Our economy and hospitality go hand-in-hand and are based on a rich foundation of shared assets that include a town with 80% of its perimeter touching water, sweeping agricultural landscapes, fresh produce, fragrant woodlands, world-class restaurants, art galleries, antique and gift shops, historic sites and a museum, cultural events, shorefront recreation (including hoops, golf and tennis), blooming gardens, and most of all, friendly-creative-smart-considerate residents. We aim to let each celebrity be a “nobody” in Elk Rapids so they can relax, recharge and continue to do good works as influential personalities. That’s one more way we continue to live abundantly, in a town where everyone plays a role in the panorama of our vibrant, yet down-to-earth life.

P.S. if you are a celebrity and reading this - we would love to get your feedback!!
