OTSEGO CO., MI -- Business was booming for local strawberry farmers this summer.
The Michigan State University Extension Office says this year's crop was a "good one" across the region.
The owner of Estelle Farms in Otsego County tells us the number of strawberries picked was high and sales of the fruit were strong, despite a slow start.
"We had a very good season, it started a little bit late, we were very dry most of the season, but we were able to irrigate them and have a good crop, we had no frost early in the spring, which was really good," said Ed Estelle.
He says this year's production is coming to an end, and today, he was mowing down the crop to prepare for next year.
But for you strawberry lovers, he says there's still plenty of the delicious red fruit left to go around.
