ST. IGNACE (AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard says it's hosting a tactical boat operators course offshore from its St. Ignace station in the Straits of Mackinac.
The Coast Guard says the training session is Monday through Friday. It says the course is offered in cooperation with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators Boat Operations and Training program.
The Coast Guard says there won't be any live fire. It says 15 boat crewmembers from eight Coast Guard stations in the Great Lakes, one from Station Miami Beach, Fla., and personnel from the Mackinac County Sherriff's Department will participate.
