PETOSKEY, MI -- More than $7.2 million were raised to build a state-of-the-art wellness pavilion in Petoskey.
Tuesday, the ribbon was cut by the largest contributor, John Demmer, as the doors opened to the new John and Marnie Demmer Wellness Pavilion and Dialysis Center.
More than 75 people showed up for the ceremony.
The center is part of Northern Michigan Regional Health Systems, and Tuesday, people got a chance to look inside for the first time.
"It came out right on time. It's the first time I can rememeber a project of this magnitude coming out right on time, and within budget," said John Demmer.
More than 400 people contributed donations toward the project.
The center will provide outpatient services including diabetes education, cardiac rehabilitation, and a 12-chair dialysis center.
