TRAVERSE CITY -- Hundreds of people in Traverse City laced up their walking shoes Saturday afternoon to move towards a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

Bright and early 7&4's very own Melissa Smith cut the ribbon, kicking off the Walk MS Event in Traverse City.

More than 300 people showed up at the Grand Traverse Civic Center, enjoying a day of fun and festivities to support those living with MS, their families and caregivers.

It’s all about raising critical funds that will support research and professional education programs aimed at helping those with the disease move forward in their lives.

Organizers with the Traverse City event say $80,000 dollars was raised today.
