LANSING (AP) -- Officials say 45 parcels of state-owned land in six Michigan counties are being offered for sale by sealed-bid online auction.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced Wednesday that the parcels are mainly in the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Michigan. The DNR says the surplus land is in Alger, Chippewa, Delta, Gladwin, Mackinac and Schoolcraft counties.
The properties range in size from less than an acre to 120 acres. They include riverside and lakeside parcels, including land along Lake Michigan.
The DNR says proceeds are used to improve recreation opportunities for the public and enhance management of existing state land.
Bids are due in August. Details of the annual land auction are posted online. You can find a link HERE.
