Meth lab discovered in Cadillac

CADILLAC -- Police received a report of drug paraphernalia, Tuesday at 8:55 p.m. at the Alpine apartment complex on Pearl Street in Cadillac.  Once officers arrived, they found the remnants of a methamphetamine lab.

The two people who discovered the lab were exposed the hazardous fumes and Northflight EMS treated them at the scene.  The first responding Cadillac police officer was also exposed to fumes during the response and was treated and released from Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. 

The Cadillac Fire Department and the Traverse Narcotics Team evacuated several residents from their apartments during the investigation.  Police say the lab remnants were rendered safe at the scene and properly disposed of.

Police say no names of the witnesses or officers treated will be released.
