ELMIRA TWP./OTSEGO CO. -- A woman is dead after crashing her car into a lake in Otsego County.
It happened around 6 this morning. 22 year-old Jessica Jones of Gaylord was driving down Parmater Road when she failed to navigate a turn, left the road and went into Porcupine Lake.
You can still see the tracks her car made in the mud as crews pulled the car out of the lake.
We spoke with a man who lives across the street and saw the accident scene.
"She just missed some of the large pines as you can see, and went right off the ground and right into the water it looked like. There was a piece of car laying on the bank, and an antenna sticking out of the water," said Alan O'Dell, who lives across the street.
O'Dell says every year, a car misses the 90-degree turn and goes off the road.
Police say the investigation to how this happened is ongoing.
