PETOSKEY, MI -- Whether you agree with the new law or not, medical marijuana is helping grow business for local plant supply stores.

Happy Hydro opened their doors in Petoskey six months ago and the owner says while the majority of her business caters to the traditional gardeners and farmers, she is seeing more business geared toward medical marijuana.

"When they come in, I don't really ask them what they're growing, I have orchid growers, tomato growers, of course, I'm sure a lot of people are doing it for medicinal purposes, and I just want to have what they need in the store and I'm happy to be here for them.  It's getting better every day," said Cindi Hopkins, Happy Hydro Co-Owner.

Cindi Hopkins says she's seeing an increase in sales of hydroponic growing systems and also fertilizer is selling quick.

She says any business is good business, regardless of how people are using her products.
