Traverse City mayor will not run for re-election
TRAVERSE CITY -- Traverse City Mayor Chris Bzdok will not be running for re-election this fall.
He made the announcement at the city commissioner meeting Monday night.
"The effort of doing my primary job and this job for two years has worn me down. I'm tired and in November I'll be ready to go. I'll be sad to go, but I'll be ready to go." he says.
Bzdok says he's most proud of the city's efforts to raise $1.5 million dollars for the bay front, funding street and sidewalk improvements, and passing an ordinance to protect everyone's civil right.
Traverse City voted him into the position in 2009. Bzdok is an attorney with Olson, Bzdok, & Howard.
