GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- The NMC Community Concert Band has released its 2011 Summer Concert Series schedule.
The music of John Philip Sousa will be featured at all concerts. Sousa is known for his patriotic and military marches, including "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and "Semper Fidelis," the official march of the U.S. Marine Corps. The series is under the direction of John Beery, and is supported by the Grand Traverse Pavilions and National Cherry Festival. Special thanks to the Civic Center and the Traverse City Parks and Recreation Department.
Here's the schedule.
- June 30 - Music House Museum in Acme, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
- July 4 - National Cherry Festival, Cherry Blast Stage, Traverse City, 1:30-3 p.m.
- July 21 - Hull Park, Hannah St. on Boardman Lake behind Traverse Area District Library, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
- July 28 - Grand Traverse Pavilions, on the lawn, Traverse City, 7-8 p.m.
