INTERLOCHEN, MI -- With all the recent natural disasters, a local school has come up with a way to help out.

Interlochen Community School will be teaming up with the popular restaurant next door, Bud's Cafe to raise money to support the American Red Cross Heroes Campaign.

20 percent of all purchases made with a coupon, distributed by the school, will be donated to the Red Cross.

One of the organizers, Nan Lewis said, "This is the first time that we've been involved with the Red Cross in this way, so we're really excited to teach the kids about giving back to their community."

They hope to raise at least $500 through this fundraiser.  The event runs tomorrow from 8 am to 9 pm.

The heroes coupons were distributed by students of the school, but if you didn't get one, don't worry; you can pick them up at the school office or at the restaurant.

The school and Bud's Cafe are located on M-137 just south of M-31 in Interlochen.
