OLD MISSION PENINSULA -- A Grand Traverse County orchard is cleaning up after damaging winds Tuesday night.

More than 40 cherry trees were knocked down by the quick moving storm at Johnson Farms.  The orchard is located off Center Road on the Old Mission Peninsula.

Family members say the damage could have been much worse if the winds took place 2-3 weeks from now.

The tree stumps will be removed this fall after the harvest and the trees will be replanted this spring.
