CARSON CITY -- A 19-month-old Carson City toddler was rescued from a large hole filled with water.

Jaxon Crouse was found floating face down unconscious in the man made hole around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.  Family members say he wandered away from the front yard and is believed to have been submerged from up to ten minutes.

After rescuing the child from the water, family members performed CPR and rushed him to the hospital.  He was then flown to DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Jaxon is in critical condition.

The hole was about three feet deep and was filled with water from recent rains.  The family had dug the hole to set their trampoline inside of it.
