BENZIE CO. -- Benzie County Central Schools will not eliminate busing as part of its efforts to make up a 1.2 million dollar budget shortfall.

The district had considered cutting busing for middle school and high school students but decided against that idea this week

Some of the possible reductions still on the table include doing away with transportation to weekend school events and a pay to play fee of $25 per sport. Also being talked about is the elimination of one administrator, such as a principal and a school counselor.

School Superintendent Dave Micinski says no final decision will be made until they get final word from legislators on state aid numbers.  A budget must be in place by June 30th.
