TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse Area District Library is expanding its services and going high tech.

The library just purchased several e-book readers that customers will soon be able to check out. The library also has more than 600 e-books available.

If you have a smart phone the TADL is also helping you get the information you need at your fingertips with a new mobile App.  It allows you to see if the book you want to read is on the shelf before you make the trek to the library.

"We're not Netflix, we're not Amazon yet and I think we'll never actually get there but I think services like this demonstrates to the community that we are listening to their needs and we are trying to offer them content on their own terms," explains Scott Morey, Assistant Director of Technology for TADL.

To download the Traverse Area District Library App just search TADL in your App store.  You can also get more information by checking out the library's website HERE.
