CHARLEVOIX -- Some county commissioners are toting some new technology to weekly board meetings.

Charlevoix County commissioners gave the go-ahead to buy themselves iPads.  The 5-1 decision last week comes with a price tag of $5,200.  The six commissioners and the clerk will each get a device to be used for sending and receiving meeting packets and other documents.

County employees say the iPads will pay for themselves eventually, when you consider how much it costs to make copies of meeting materials.

No matter what the cost savings - do you think now is the right time for county employees to consider making a purchase of this nature?  Tell us "Your Point of View" by voting in the poll below and leaving your comments.

Your Point of View
Charlevoix County Commissioners voted to buy themselves iPads. They say the purchase will eventually pay for itself by saving money on making copies. Do you think now is the time to be making a purchase like this - even if it will save money in the long run?

We're sorry, voting for this poll has ended.
