TRAVERSE CITY -- It’s a sure sign spring is here as the largest farmers market in northern Michigan opened up for business Saturday morning.
The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market kicked off a new season bright and early in Traverse City.
There are a few new things to note this year like “SEEDS" a local non-profit organization will take on management responsibilities.
Also new this year, there will be recycling containers placed at the market for the customers to use.
The robust Downtown Farmers Market hosts 100 vendors over the course of season and draws thousands of visitors each year.
The market takes place across Cass Street from the Traverse City Area Chamber of Building, just off Grandview Parkway.
