MESICK, MI -- Mushroom lovers have a place to celebrate this weekend; the mushroom capitol of the United States; right here in Northern Michigan.
The 52nd annual Mesick Lions Mushroom Festival just kicked off and will continue through Mother's Day.
Celebrating not only the delicacies that are morel mushrooms, but also a flea market and carnival rides for kids of all ages.
Not to mention the Grand Parade taking place at noon on Saturday on North Clark Street in downtown Mesick.
Shiela Ferrel, Festival Chairman said, "There's something for everybody. The Lions have been working on it for 52 years. It's just a coming together of community and visitors just to have a good time."
Organizers say people come from all over the United States for the festival.
Activities will be taking place all weekend long at the festival grounds near the corner of M-37 and M-115 in Wexford County.
