TRAVERSE CITY -- It's earth week and one Traverse City woman is doing some eco-friendly good in the form of stylish sandals.
Owner of Jean's Gone green Jen Lett has been handcrafting denim flip flops and shoe bags since 2009.
Their known for their comfort and bling but more importantly their innovative way of turning rescued denim into fashionable foot wear. All the jeans come from local charitable organizations.
Lett prides herself on keeping production in northern Michigan and says, "We take the denim that we make our sandals with -- we call it rescued -- in other words we work with different charitable organizations a lot with Women's Resource Center, Salvation Army, and Goodwill."
The flip flops come in all colors and are embellished with Swarovski crystals and embroidered with stitched themes.
Lett says the company couldn't run without the hard work of her team of mom's that put in long hours.
