Do April snow showers bring May flowers?

A lot of Northern Michigan residents are hoping so.  Another round of wintry weather rolled through much of our viewing area last night and early this morning.

Some of our viewers reported totals of 1-2" around the straits.  But just to the south, in places like Petoskey and Eastport, viewers reported over half a foot.

Last night the roads were treacherous.  Several cars slid off US-131 on the stretch between Grand Rapids and Cadillac due to a thick coating of sleet.

This morning, most of the precipitation is coming to an end but don't expect an easy commute on the untreated roadways.  The snow that fell was very dense which means it packs very well.  Don't expect to be done shoveling any time soon.

The good news is warmer temperatures are on the way and with lots of sunshine in the forecast for Thursday, a good chunk of this snow will melt very quickly.
