Road commission scrambles to prep for storm
TRAVERSE CITY -- Road crews across Northern Michigan are scrambling to get ready for this spring snow storm, but perhaps none more than the Grand Traverse County Road Commission.
Last week, crews took the snow equipment off the plows to prepare for spring and summer work. Mechanics were called in Tuesday to re-attach gear in hopes they finish before the first flake.
With the rising costs of gas, this storm could cost the Grand Traverse County Road Commission more than $10,000 a day in fuel costs alone.
