TRAVERSE CITY -- Business owners and residents can find out more information about a road project in Traverse City.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is planning to mill and resurface US-31/M-37 from Front Street to Grandview Parkway in Traverse City beginning in June.

Beginning in mid-May, prior to MDOT's planned work in the area, The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality will perform environmental cleanup and Traverse City Light & Power will perform underground utility work. MDOT's project includes joint repairs, concrete sidewalk/pedestrian ramps upgrades and crosswalk markings.

This open house will allow residents and business owners an opportunity to talk one-on-one with MDOT officials and othersprior to construction.

It will take place Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce, 202 East Grandview Parkway, 2nd floor Traverse City.
