GRAYLING, MI -- Thanks to the efforts of community members, a new skate park is almost ready to open in Crawford County.
The skate park will be right next to Grayling City Hall.
For five years, skateboarders and bmx bikers have begged for a place to do their tricks.
They raised $10,000 and the city pitched in $30,000 more and now the project is underway.
Skateboarders say they're excited.
"It's going to be great, because there are not a lot of concrete skate parks in Michigan, so it'll be something to come and check out from all over Michigan," said Trey Townsend, who led the efforts.
A company was hired out of Maine to help with the construction of the new park.
The park is set to be complete in about a week and a half.
