EMMET CO., MI -- Do you ever wonder what to do with that old television, computer, or printer?
Emmet County Recycling says they'll take them, and the best part, they'll take them for free.
As part of Michigan's "Electronic Waste Take Back Program," Emmet County will let you drop off the items and they'll take them, break them down, and sell the used commodities.
This is a way to keep the electronics out of the landfill and help preserve the environment.
"Electronics have a lot of hazardous materials, heavy metals, thing that are hazardous to the environment when they're thrown out, but they could be 100 percent recycled, everything in them, there are actually valuable materials by they're in such small quantities, it takes a lot of labor to break them down, but it's worth doing," said Elisa Seltzer of Emmet County Recycling.
