The controversy between local landowners who signed oil and gas agreements and the company that promised big bucks for their mineral rights is headed to court.

Several of the mineral rights holders were promised thousands of dollars for the rights to their land and late last year, the companies came back and voided most of the contracts, claiming a title defect.

About a dozen lawsuits have been filed out of 138 plaintiffs, claiming fraud, conspiracy, and breach of contract, among other claims.
