CADILLAC, MI -- Cadillac leaders are calling on Wexford County Commissioners to assign more deputies to road patrols within city limits.
At a meeting Monday night, commissioners unanimously voted to make a formal request for addition road patrols.
Cadillac residents help fund the Wexford County Sheriff’s Department through taxes. However, City Manager Marcus Peccia said they are not getting adequate protection from the department. “There certainly is a discrepancy between what is being collected and what is being allocated to the city,” Peccia said.
Wexford County Commissioners will receive the request this week. They will have approximately 30 days to respond, Peccia said.
